High Intermingle Ya

The process of high intermingling ya involves the use of a jet of cold air to open and intertwine individual filaments. This produces a ya that is very durable and has good cohesion. Process of air intermingling

Air intermingling is a process that entails opening up individual filaments within a ya and letting the air intermingle them. The amount of air that is injected into the ya determines the degree of intermingling. Depending on the type of ya, the amount of air injected can be as low as 0.5 kg/cm2 or as high as 6.0 kg/cm2.

In the air-intermingling process, the individual filaments of the two ya components are opened and intermittently mixed in a high-pressure air nozzle. The aim of the study was to determine the impact of different intermingling parameters on the  melange fabric appearance and mechanical properties.

Fine-filament yas are more difficult to process than coarse-filament yas. This is due to the greater likelihood of filament breaks, which may cause the loom to stop or cause fabric flaws. As a result, sizing of fine filament yas is an important consideration in the process.
Characteristics of high intermingled ya

A high intermingled ya is a type of ya with high intermingling density. Nip density is the density of intermingled filaments per unit ya volume. The mingling density of a ya depends on several factors. The ya's filament cross section, feed ratio, and ya tension all have a significant impact on nip density. A lower ya tension results in higher intermingling density. Increasing the tension decreases nip density.

The intermingling speed and feed composition of the yas affect the melange appearance of the fabric. The production speed can change the melange appearance, so it is important to determine the desired speed when developing melange fabrics.
